Samsung Electronics has said that it will be hosting a developers meeting next month. The move is stated to be the technology giant’s way of increasing the reach of its Bixby artificial-intelligence (AI) assistant.

Yonhap found out straight from Samsung Tuesday that the company’s meeting, called the Samsung Bixby Developer Day, is scheduled to happen on 20th November in Seoul, South Korea.

Samsung has 2 primary objectives for the event. First, it desires it to act as the location where it will reveal to invited developers and business companions its vision for the Bixby platform. Next, it intends to present the new features of its AI program during the meeting.

Samsung’s major smartphones are already outfitted with Bixby, but it’s clear that the company wishes to bring it to more devices. The biggest smartphone producer divulged previously this year that it’s mosting likely to integrate its AI modern technology to its house appliances by 2020, The Capitalist has learned.

The Bixby digital assistant was released along with the Galaxy S8 early last year. At launch, the program was missing out on some of its assured features, consisting of Bixby Voice. It took a while before Samsung managed to present the features, triggering many to doubt the abilities of Bixby.

Nonetheless, the tech titan did not pull back from its need of making Bixby a powerful and top digital assistant. Samsung serviced a remodeling for the AI aide with Bixby 2.0. The updated environment is more concentrated on incorporating with Samsung’s IoT and connected items.

Samsung Bixby 2.0 is currently publicly available, but it is only found on Galaxy Note 9 mobiles to date. Samsung intends to make the updated software “open” by launching an SDK and API later on this year. But also for currently, the SDK is only accessible through a shut, invitation-only beta test, according to TechRepublic.

The CEO of Samsung’s mobile device, DJ Koh, told CNBC last month that the tech titan will publicly release the SDK and API at an upcoming developer conference in San Francisco. Koh kept in mind that the general public launch of the updates will allow the Bixby ecological community to grow.

” Opening the ecosystem in November, then this baby (Bixby) will grow,” Koh stated at the time. “So I do not intend to see just 6 months or nine months performance, no. Because this is like a long journey; it’s just beginning because with the brand-new Bixby embedded in the Note 9, a brand-new baby was born.”

Koh explained that Bixby will have the ability to expand and find out more when developers start creating applications that will use its modern technology and features.
